BrYAn?!? – Viva La Espana! Trash The Germans Tonight! (:
That’s my MSN personal message for today… EURO 08 Final match is only an hour away from now… Can’t wait can’t wait! Hope it’s not another boring match like few of the previous games… =/ The Spaniards better win the final game against germany!! It has been 44 years since Spain last won the EURO cup…
So, just who is the underdog in the current Euro 2008 final?
Some would say Spain, which has a history of crumbling under pressure and hasn’t won a European Championship in 44 years…
Others would argue Germany… While the Germans squeaked by Turkey in the semifinal, Spain cruised to a three-goal victory over Russia, making it the only unbeaten team in Euro 2008… This despite Germany’s record three titles (1972, 1980 and 1996) and role as the favorite before the tournament began…
So…
Will the German’s Michael Ballack finish as a runner-up for the third time this year? Ballack’s club, Chelsea, finished second in England’s Premier League and emerged as runner up in the Champions League final as well…
OR
Can Spain win the big one? People are probably sick of hearing about Spain’s underachieving, but it’s the question that will haunt them until they really lifted a major trophy…
Well, after my “precise” analysis over the past games, I’ve concluded on these things based on my opinion:
KEY PLAYERS
Spain:
Fernando Torres – Spain made it to the final even though Torres’ play has been subpar… But with leading scorer David Villa likely to be out with a thigh muscle injury, Spain needs Torres to step up.
Other key players include Iniesta, David Silva, Xavi & the Arsenal player who was the Man of the Match in Spain’s 3-0 win against Russia, Francesc Fabregas… Not forgetting Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, Iker Casillas to secure the Spaniard’s net…
Germany:
Bastian Schweinsteiger – Ballack gets the attention and Lukas Podolski gets the credit, but don’t forget about Schweinsteiger… The Bayern Munich midfielder has two goals and two assists in four games and could sneak a goal in against a Spanish team that may focus on his better-known teammates…
Other key players to watchout include Chelsea’s Michael Ballack, Lukas Podolski & Miroslav Klose… Ex-Arsenal Goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has also proved his worth after sitting on the bench most of the time last season… He is a vital asset for the Germans if they want to win this EURO 08 cup…
Okayy… I bet most of you out there don’t really care about these analysis & stuff… Nevermind, I was just too bored studying for my final exams which is held next week that’s why I did all these… Ok finally,
PREDICTIONS
Spain appears mentally tougher than in past tournaments and proved that with clutch performances against Italy and Russia… Germany has the size, the scorers and the winners’ mentality as they’ve won the World Cup 2006 before this… Although it looks like the German’s gained more advantage on the mentality and stuff like that, I would still place my bet on the talented Spaniards…
I would say maybe a 2-1 win for Spain?? Just my prediction… Predictions could be wrong too… So don’t flame me after the match is over with a different match result alright! Hahahaha!

— MATCH REPORT —
Half-Time Report
Germany 0 – 1 Spain
Germany started out well during the first ten minutes… They were the ones who started attacking and stuff like that… Spain were looking a little nervous and shaky at first but then they started counter attacking later on… Until the 33rd minute, Fernando Torres scored a chip shot goal from almost the edge of the six yard box when the Germany’s goalkeeper Jens Lehmann rushed out trying to grab the ball from Torres… A simple chip goal from him… And then Michael Ballack injured his right eye by clashing heads with another Spanish player… Spain were playing very offensive since then… They had 8 shots in total whereas the Germans managed to have only 1 shot…
Full-Time Report
Germany 0 – 1 Spain
Germany AGAIN started very threatful… Kept attacking on the Spanish half… On the 51st minute, Germany striker Klose’s balls groin was accidentally booted… HAHAHA! The look on his face was like, LOL! But he’s alright and kept on playing… Later on, Spain had many good chances as well… Torres as well has few chances as he was sometimes too quick for the Germans… Both Germany & Spain continued to be threatful against each other throughout the second half… During the 78th minute, Fernando Torres was substituted out from the match… Since then, Spain played defensively… Even if its a corner kick or free kick, they only sent around 3 players upfront to attack… That was a smart decision by the Spain manager to secure their EURO 08 cup win! So yaa… My prediction was right…
Spain wins EURO 2008!! xDxDxD

Except for the scoreline i predicted… I predicted Spain 2-1 Germany whereas the actual score is Spain 1-0 Germany… Anyway it’s still a 1 goal margin… So not bad laaa…. Thank you thank you!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
And so… Spain won the Euro 08 cup, I can sleep peacefully now… Ohh gosh it’s 5am already… >.< Goodnightsss! (:
