EVENT: Merdeka Train Party (MTP) Flash Mob
DATE: 31st August 2009
VENUE: KL Sentral & along KL Monorail stations
How did you celebrate Merdeka Day? I joined the Merdeka Train Party!
200+ people participated during the Merdeka Day train flash mob organized by RandomAlphabets.com
The objective was to decorate the interior of the trains to help liven up the merdeka spirit among the passengers since there weren’t any large scale merdeka parade held in the morning or so.
We gathered at the meeting point (KFC @ KL Sentral) and had our briefings. We were splitted into groups and Joshua Ong was my group leader woohooo ahah!
We proceeded to KL monorail station and started our ‘train vandalism’ operation when we were almost reaching the last stop (Titiwangsa station).
Quote from Joshuaongys: “there were lots of Malaysians who got lost having no idea on what are they getting in the whole journey, many of them did smile, cheered and even sang with us! We shouted Merdeka from time to time and sang Happy Birthday song a couple of times. It was crazy but it is all these little things that unite us all together.”
We had a great time in the train, then we got off at the dropping point to take some group shots and so on as usual.
Ermm a few members from my group, this was actually taken halfway thru the ‘operation’, we sneaked out the train and got into the next train to see see lol
MTP jump shot fuhhh!
Anyway here’s a video report on the Merdeka Train Party by The Star Online:
Not enough? Take a look at what they had wrote about!
