MIKAN JAPANESE CUISINE KAFE & BISTRO

Was invited for a food tasting session few weekends ago @ Mikan Japanese Restaurant which serves some of the scrumptious japanese food available in downtown KL. The japanese restaurant is located within Maju Junction Mall, along the roads of Jalan Sultan Ismail (opposite Tune Hotel KL).

Overall, the food was pretty unique and tasty as they prepared some of the dishes in a different way than the conventional japanese cuisine; some had unique ingredients in it such as coffee in the curry and so on, the sashimi are freshly shipped twice a week (Tues & Fri), salmon fish being imported from Norway, Nishiki rice were used in their sushi and processed with Evian water, their Ebi Tempura prawns are BIG (twice or maybe more the size of the usual prawn you get in jap restaurants), even their ice creams are imported from Japan, etc..

Had a long 4 hours+ lunch on that day and our stomach were fulfilled with loads of japanese happiness. If you are planning to dine at Mikan Japanese Restaurant, just call them for reservation and they’ll provide you with free parking spot right in front of the restaurant!

One of the most anticipated party, Hennessy Artistry “The Global Art of Mixing” will be kick-starting their 2011 series campaign this month in Penang & Kuala Lumpur! First stop will be at VOODOO, Upper Penang Road @ Penang on April 28 followed by the party in THE OPERA, Sunway Pyramid @ Kuala Lumpur on April 30.

The last time Hennessy Artistry was held in OPERA, Sunway Pyramid was during March 2010. Am pretty sure this time their Hennessy Artistry 2011 kick-start party would be even more exciting as there are lots of new things brought to you.

Party-goers coming into the venue this year will receive a new radio-frequency identification wristband that allows them to log on to their respective Facebook accounts and automatically post their activities as status updates whenever they scan their wristbands onto a RFID reader located at each Hennessy Mixing booth. In addition, photos of guests taken at the Hennessy Interactive Photowall will be uploaded onto Hennessy Artistry’s official Facebook page upon which, guests can also instantaneously tag themselves on the photos using their RFID wristband. Now that seems like a cool concept, which is something I am looking forward to try out!

Leading the line-up at the upcoming Hennessy Artistry party is Australian electro/house duo – Vandalism which comprises of DJ Andy Van and vocalist/songwriter Cassie Van. Staying true to Hennessy Artistry’s innovative approach in blending musical genres of the East and West, the upcoming party will also see Malaysia’s very own – Kyoto Protocol conquering the stage. Joining them at the party are two of the hottest female DJs in town – Miss Eva T & DJ Lizz. Together, they form Spinderella, a hip-hop, R&B, electro/house spinning duo that churns out tunes which are unique and fresh.

And also it’s limited to high-rise residences for now, good thing I’m staying in a condominium but that doesn’t mean my family would wanna subscribe to this.
