Kitchen Creatures

Welcome to Kitchen Creatures, the no-frills dining restaurant!

Kitchen Creatures

RAWR!!

Had a casual dining session with the bloggers on Friday night @ Kitchen Creatures, Centrepoint Bandar Utama.

Kitchen Creatures Bloggers

There were some who left earlier, thus not in the group picture above =]

Kitchen Creatures People

I ordered the Monster Platter which consists of fried shrimp, calamari rings, mushrooms, fried chicken wings and nachos

As well as the Slimey George – Sprite + Ribena + Lemon

So, you’ve seen the pictures… It looks nice, but does it taste nice?

Well to be honest, the food there was nothing to be ‘hoo-haa’ about. The food is nice laa, but like my calamari rings was just… calamari rings. A friend said his pasta was just… pasta lor. Nothing special but nice =]

HOWEVER…

The food pricing is very reasonable! Except for the drinks tho because i think it was a little bit pricey than normal. I mean, where can you get nice Chicken Chop or Fish & Chips for RM11? Lamb chop, sirloin steak, ribeye steak, etc for RM16 only? If you know anywhere else that serves affordable AND nice food like this, please tell me! But no… Till now i haven’t found one yet :)

And the best part, Kitchen Creatures pricing are nett and tax free! You pay whatever price that is on the menu only!

Do pay them a visit if you’re around there ;)

House of Buffet @ Jalan Bukit Bintang

Previously known as Yaki-Yaki Japanese Barbeque Buffet Restaurant, it’s now being renovated as House of Buffet (HOB). Situated in Jalan Bukit Bintang (next to Low Yat Plaza), they serve local delights, Japanese and Western cuisine, as well as appetizers and desserts with the likes of free flow Baskin Robbins ice cream!

And recently there was a bloggers-food-session at HOB House of Buffet @ Jalan Bukit Bintang

House of Buffet

The interior is still kinda new because it has yet to be officially opened at the time we were there few weeks ago.

House of Buffet Restaurant

House of Buffet Place

This is the ‘frying’ bar where you can find those fried stuff such as Japanese tempura, fried sweet cake, fried finger food, etc…

HOB Buffet

Western cuisine bar with all the chicken chop, beef slices, etc…

Western Cuisine

The salad bar

Salad Bar

The Japanese bar filled with sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese related food…

Japanese Bar

The sashimi weren’t really THAT fresh, but yeah it’s definitely better than Sushi King in terms of freshness for sure!

Sushi Plate

The dessert bar with tarts, ‘mochi’, jelly, etc…

Dessert Buffet

They also serve different variety of cakes such as Tiramisu, Oreo Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, etc…

I tried the Oreo Cheesecake and it was okayyy, not bad for a buffet restaurant cake lol (considering it’s not Secret Recipe). BUT, their Tiramisu is crap! It isn’t Tiramisu, it’s SPONGECAKE with loads of CREAM!! Blerghh! Don’t take that if you’re visiting HOB lol.

Cakes Buffet

One of the attraction in House of Buffet has gotta be the free flow Baskin Robbins ice cream! They don’t have the typical flavours such as Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry but they have other flavours from Baskin Robbins instead.

Baskin Robbins Ice Cream

There were also beverage station with different juices served free flow…

Beverage Station

But these fresh mini coconuts are the best! I drank like 4-5 coconuts that night! :D

Mini Coconut

Anyway thanks to SmashpOp for inviting to join along the makan session!

SmashpOp House Of Buffet

All in all, i wouldn’t select HOB as an option for buffet meal unless someone pays for my meal lol. I’d prefer more of Japanese food so… with that price, I’d rather go to japanese buffet places such as Saisaki (cheaper!) or add on a lil bit more for Jogoya, Tenji, etc… More worth it in my opinion!

Ohh! In case you guys wanna prove me wrong, here are the restaurant details so that you guys can try out for yourselves haha!

Our first makan stop in Penang?

Kayu Nasi Kandar

No, not Kayu Nasi Kandar, it was closed that time and we didn’t plan to go there either. You want Kayu, PJ also got la… Why come to Penang lol!

I don’t know what street it is but i’m sure if you’ve been to Penang, you must’ve heard of Nasi Kandar Line Clear =]

Line Clear Penang

From what i heard, it’s actually quite famous and has been existing since a long time ago. It’s situated in a rather hidden, narrow lane among those other bigger restaurants lol.

Line Clear Nasi Kandar

Pasembur Penang

What can i say? Like crap lor. KL rojak much better LOL! Or probably because we chose the wrong place to have the ‘famous’ Pasembur hmmm…

Pasembur MAS Bloggers Penang Makan Trip

Then it was time to head back to Penang airport and then to Kuala Lumpur…

Penang Streets

And this trip was made possible all thanks to MAS and its new MHmobile flymas.mobi flight booking service!

With MHmobile service, we managed to check in the flight to and fro KL – Penang without going to the check in counter, without a physical flight ticket, without going through the hassle of booking the normal way, without having to sacrifice trees to produce the physical flight tickets :P

It’s all so easy! As easy as 1, 2, 3 ahaha!

And i’ll show you HOW easy it is in the next blog post! Stay tuned ;)

*UPDATE*

Flymas.mobi – As easy as 1, 2, 3!
